Overview:
Prescribers can be granted access to RI PDMP directly through CurrentCare. They won’t have to login to the RI PDMP site.
They will be able to view Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) data from RI, MA and beyond. This will include dispensed medication data for controlled substances.
A “PDMP” tab will display under the CurrentCare “Medication Management” tab in:
- Portal – Providers will need to be granted access to the PDMP by their HIE Administrators.
- InContext – Providers will be granted access to the PDMP by their EHR Administrators.

I see a “PDMP” tab in Portal – does that mean I have access to PDMP medication data?
Everyone will see the PDMP tab in Portal and in InContext [in EHRs]. Not everyone will have access to view PDMP data.
If you are a prescriber who has been authorized, you might see PDMP medication data on the “PDMP” tab under “Medication Management.”
All other staff will see the “PDMP” tab in the Portal, but there will not be any data in it.
